The Best Diablo 2 Resurrected Classes
No matter which one you used previously, these classes should be very familiar to you on a base level. Over time though, it may be that you may have forgotten some things along the way. So here then is a reminder of the best Diablo 2 Resurrected classes, with all the skills and attributes explained.
Activision Blizzard is facing a lawsuit filed in July by the state of California (since expanded for QA and customer service contractors) alleging years of discrimination and harassment. Since then, CEO Bobby Kotick has called the company’s initial response “tone deaf”, employees have staged a walkout, Blizzard president J Allen Brack has left, and the ABK Workers Alliance has demanded change at the company. The lawsuit is ongoing; follow the latest developments here. In September, an agency of the US federal government opened an investigation into Activision Blizzard’s response to sexual misconduct and discrimination complaints from its employees, as part of which Kotick has reportedly been subpoenaed. The company is also facing a separate unfair labour practice suit alleging “worker intimidation and union busting” filed by a workers’ union, also in September.
Here are the best Diablo 2 Resurrected classes:
PALADIN
The Paladin can be either a highly offensive class able to power up the entire team or a defensive class that uses auras to give the team resistance to various types of attacks. He also uses magic attacks to inflict damage on foes or to heal and buff friends. He has among the highest health pool and strength stats and is excellent for those wanting to lean towards a support/tank build.
However, where he truly shines is the best Diablo 2 Resurrected Paladin build: the ‘Hammerdin’. By using a lethal combination of auras, the Paladin’s Blessed Hammer skill can smite demons with ease, and his teammates get all the benefits of the auras to their attacks. If the Hammerdin is not to your tastes, several viable options are available, making it the most versatile class in the game.
PALADIN STARTING ATTRIBUTES

Paladin combat skills

Sorceress
With mastery over ice, lightning, and fire, the Sorceress flings spells that can seriously damage foes, inflict status ailments, and protect from enemy attacks. However, she is the most fragile of all the classes and pretty terrible at melee combat too, but makes up for it with a massive mana pool.
The best Diablo 2 Resurrected Sorceress build is just a smidge harder to use than the Paladin thanks to enemies with cold resistance, but flinging ‘Frozen Orbs’ to annihilate every enemy on-screen is immensely satisfying. The only thing that puts the Paladin above the Sorceress is that the Paladin has abilities that help everyone. On the other hand, the Sorceress doesn’t buff her teammates, but killing monsters is still a helpful contribution. So if you want to focus on raw DPS, the Sorceress is for you.
SORCERESS STARTING ATTRIBUTES
Health points – 40 Stamina – 74 Mana points – 35 Strength – 10 Dexterity – 25 Vitality – 10 Energy – 35

Necromancer
The Necromancer excels at using macabre magic to raise a skeleton army and other minions to fight for you. But while he may be more well known for his many pets, the Necromancer does have other spells. He can use poison to sap at an opponent’s life, use bones as ingredients for magic, and even curse enemies with status ailments. He’s somewhat on the flimsy side but not the weakest of the bunch.
Our recommendation for the best Diablo 2 Necromancer build focuses heavily on summoning his monster army. You’ll begin by investing in Raise Skeleton and Clay Golem to act as a barrier between your enemies and your allies. Then, you can use Corpse Explosion to wipe out large clusters of foes at once for every enemy that dies. If there is a mighty enemy you’ve just slain, the last skill, Revive, will bolster your army with a powerful new companion. The Necromancer’s ability to distract the enemy is valuable. The only issue with this strategy is that your allies in multiplayer might find it difficult to tell the difference between enemies and your monsters.
NECROMANCER STARTING ATTRIBUTES
Health points – 45 Stamina – 79 Mana points – 25 Strength – 15 Dexterity – 25 Vitality – 15 Energy – 25

Barbarian
If you prefer getting up close and personal, swinging your sword or axe while screaming in the faces of your enemies, then the Barbarian is for you. Mastering items, frantic combat skills, and shouting at the top of your lungs are a considerable part of your arsenal, but the Barbarian’s primary job is to soak up all the damage and be a big distraction to enable your allies to attack without worrying about getting hurt.
Speaking of the best Diablo 2 Resurrected Barbarian build, the ‘Whirlwind’ skill combined with Battle Orders and Shout makes this one of the tankier builds in the game. So long as you use the Whirlwind in short bursts, you’ll be able to dish out the maximum amount of damage possible. While the Barbarian doesn’t do as much damage as the Paladin or Sorceress, he provides enough of a distraction that is vital for parties playing in multiplayer.

Howl – frightens monsters, causing them to run in fear Find Potion – Barbarian has a chance to procure a potion depending on a monster’s corpse (potion type depends on act) Shout – increases the defence of allies Taunt – taunts a monster, compelling it to engage in melee combat with reduced damage Find Item – attempts to find a random item in a monster’s corpse Battle Cry – lowers the nearby opponent’s defence and damage Battle Orders – increases nearby allies’ life, stamina, and mana Grim Ward – turns a corpse into a gruesome ward, causing nearby monsters to flee at the sight of it War Cry – damages and stuns enemies Battle Command – increases the Barbarian’s and nearby allies’ skills by one
Druid
One of the two classes introduced initially in the Lord of Destruction expansion pack, the Druid specialises in using nature and body modifying skills to wade through the demons in his way. He can summon the elements to inflict damage, transform himself into a werewolf or werebear that he can give unique abilities to, or just summon creatures to fight by his side like ravens or oak sages. This is a good option for those wanting a mix of melee and ranged magical combat with average stats.
We think that the best Diablo 2 Resurrected Druid build is his DPS focused ‘Fury Werewolf’ build. By channelling his inner beast, he can transform into a monster that has many buffs so long as he’s in beast mode. This is also a relatively varied build, with the option to call upon a grizzly bear to help manage crowds of enemies. If you have a Sorceress casting spells or a Paladin keeping you healthy, this class can be as good as the Barbarian.

ASSASSIN
As the second of the two classes introduced initially in the Lord of Destruction expansion pack, the Assassin uses a mix of martial arts and deadly traps to take out targets. She’s also a master of ninja techniques, including rapid speed, allowing her to avoid enemy detection. Her stats are as average as they get, but she has impressive stamina that’s handy for avoiding danger.
She’s also, sadly, the most challenging class to use in the game. It’s not that the best Diablo 2 Resurrected Assassin build isn’t good, it is, but her skills require the player to execute a lot of commands and set up traps in advance for her to be effective. Even her best build doesn’t quite reach the standards of the other classes as they’re just more efficient. If this doesn’t phase you, then it’s worth at least trying her out for yourself.
