Looking at the overall minimum specs, the actual hardware demands don’t call for anything new. In fact, most of these components weren’t overly expensive when they came out. You can play the game on an older mid-range PC, but you might encounter some performance issues on the minimum specs even after the first Stalker 2 patch. To ensure you get the best out of the game, you might want to consider an upgrade to hardware closer to the recommended hardware.

This is certainly quite a beefy jump from the minimum, but there’s an even higher spec tier waiting around the corner, and a more mid-range build for those who can’t meet the recommended specs.
The Stalker 2 medium specs enable you to play the game at 1,080p, 60fps, and requires just 16GB of RAM, along with an eight-core Intel Core i7 9700K Coffee Lake CPU or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Zen 2 CPU.
You’ll also need an upper to mid-range GPU released in the last few years to meet the medium specs, such as an RTX 2070 Super or RTX 4060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU.
Finally, the Stalker 2 epic specs are seriously demanding, but enable you to play the game at 4K at over 60fps. As with the recommended specs (which only enable the high graphics preset), you’ll need 32GB of dual-channel RAM, but you’ll also need a powerful current-gen graphics card like the flagship AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX or Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080. You’ll need a powerful (and recent) CPU too, with the developer listing an Intel Core i7 13700KF and an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 7700X as suitable options.
Investing in one of the best gaming SSD models is also a must for this game to reduce loading times. The Stalker 2 download size is 160GB, with developer GSC Game World dismissing any notion of getting the game running on a standard hard drive.
