Finally, though, we get the mania we deserve with Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2: Lawless. With another new season comes mammoth changes to the Fortnite map, absurd new Fortnite NPCs, and the usual mayhem you can expect from the battle royale game. It’s all kicking off this season, so here’s everything we know about the Fortnite Lawless release date, from the introduction of Big Dill to the return of The Brat, and even a feud with T-Pain.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 release date

The Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 release date was Friday, February 21, 2025. Titled Lawless, this season is set to be full of chaos, rap battles, and… dill pickles? There were a few hints and reveals on the official Fortnite X ahead of the new season launch, and the biggest addition is Big Dill, rap star, badass, and literal pickle. In fact, Big Dill even has his own track, Runamok, and a feud with T-Pain. So far, there’s been no official word on whether T-Pain will be more heavily involved in the season, but the rapper is a regular Twitch streamer these days, so we’re sure there’s more to come there.
As always, the new season comes with changes to the map; new NPCs to meet, duel, and hire; and new quests and events, all of which revolve around the chaotic theme of lawlessness.

Chapter 6 Season 2 details

Lawless Battle Pass

The automatic unlock this time around is the white-haired beauty from the trailer, who we now know to be called Cassidy Quinn.
Further along the Battle Pass this season, you can expect to unlock the pink-haired Joss, terrifying Baron Fletcher Kan, and the masked Valentina. The biggest hit of the battle pass, though, might just be Big Dill, and we particularly love the spicy red skin available on page ten. Make it to the end of the pass to unlock Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero, available in two forms.

New Fortnite weapons

It looks as though a dual-wield shotgun is among the new weapons coming to Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, as you can see it in the trailer at the top of the page. There’s also a lot of explosives, though none of these have been confirmed, with Fortnite leaker Shiina suggesting that one such explosive might be ‘Meltanite‘.
The trailer also shows off a laser rifle, blasting a red beam of light that causes an explosion at the point of impact. We can also expect a clinger-style projectile weapon, something akin to the rocket launcher, and icy gauntlets.
