Does Starfield Have Multiplayer Co Op

While there’s plenty of Starfield companions who will happily spend hours by your side, these friendly NPCs can’t beat the simple joy of exploring a vast open-world game with a real-life pal. A Starfield co-op mode might be even more appealing if you’ve already reached the Starfield ending and you’re looking to hop back in following the Starfield Shattered Space release date. Whatever your reasons, here’s the lowdown on multiplayer in Starfield.

Does Starfield have multiplayer?

No, Starfield does not have multiplayer or co-op modes. Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield is strictly a single-player experience. It’s unlikely we’ll see a co-op or competitive mode given the studio’s ongoing focus on single-player games. While the two most recent games from Bethesda – Fallout 76 and Elder Scrolls Online – are MMOs, Todd Howard established a clear line between Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda Game Studios titles in a Develop:Brighton interview.
While it’s possible we’ll see Starfield multiplayer arrive as an unofficial Starfield mod sometime in the future, it don’t appear that one is in development right now. We also expect the granularity of Starfield’s fast travel system would cause some potential issues in any attempt to adapt it for multiplayer.
The developers of Skyrim Together, a popular Skyrim mod, embarked on a similar multiplayer project for Starfield.
