Diablo 4 Rogue Class Skills And Imbue System Explained
One of the Diablo 4 classes, Rogue is a throwback to the origins of the RPG game series. Although originally from the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye, players can take on either a female or male Rogue class role. Here’s everything you need to know about the Diablo 4 Rogue, including the best Diablo 4 Rogue build so you can maximize your damage output.
Diablo 4 Rogue gameplay
As mentioned, Rogue is a flexible, multi-skilled character who excels in both ranged and melee attacks. That means they has the skills to equip and use a whole host of weaponry, from swords and daggers to bows and crossbows, which they’ll use in unison to defeat enemies.
Rogue also comes with character customisation meaning you can create a unique look based on your style, from tattoos to hoods, to half masks and more. With such a flexible character comes the opportunity to mix up Rogue’s playstyle. Our best Diablo 4 Rogue build makes the stealthy class into a jack of all trades, giving you the tools needed to fight up close and from a distance.
Diablo 4 Rogue specialisations
Rogue has a unique ability to pick up three different class specialisations – Shadow Realm, Exploit Weakness, and Combo Points.
Shadow Realm: Become Immune for one second and pull target enemies into the Shadow Realm with you for five seconds. While in the Shadow Realm, you gain both Stealthed and Unstoppable buffs, and deal 50% additional damage to afflicted enemies. Exploit Weakness: All hits against enemies affected become Critical Strikes and will deal an additional 60% damage. Combo Points: your basic attacks now add Combo Points, up to a maximum of three. Using spender skills expends the combo points, increasing the effectiveness of that skill per combo point.
All three specialisations will help Rogue complete class-specific quests throughout Diablo 4. All three can be unlocked throughout the game, but players can only have one active at any time.
Diablo 4 Rogue imbue
The Rogue has a special mechanic called ‘Imbue’, which allows players to “change your playstyle on the fly”. Players can assign an imbue to each skill with Frost, Shadow, or Poison effects (including secondary effects such as poison damage). It allows the Rogue to be flexible with their attacks and implement specific elemental damage to attacks for them and their teammates.
So, they could freeze their rain of arrows, poison the battlefield, or use an otherworldly power to take over their enemies with a shadow-imbued weapon.
