Deadlock Ranks And Ranked Mode Explained

Deadlock is playable right now, and it’s in good shape, even though the full Deadlock release date is still a ways away. Valve recently introduced a ranked mode in the MOBA game, but how does it work? Also, have you dipped your toe into the competitive scene and wondered what your rank means? Here is the Deadlock ranked mode and ranks explained.

Deadlock ranked mode explained

Ranked Deadlock places you in matches with players of the same skill level. To participate in ranked matches, you must complete at least 50 regular matches to qualify. This ensures that everyone involved has a decent grasp of the game before diving into the big leagues.
Your skill level determines your rank, and your initial rank is achieved by playing seven qualifying games in a week, whereby you’ll be awarded one of 11 medals:

Initiate Seeker Alchemist Arcanist Ritualist Emissary Archon Oracle Phantom Ascendant Eternus

Each of these ranks is further split into six subranks, creating a total of 66 milestones for you to aim for in the multiplayer game. Ranked medals are updated every Tuesday evening, where you’ll see yourself potentially moving, depending on your performance that week.
You must complete seven matches in any given week to keep your medal. If you do not complete seven matches, your rank will be set back to Obscurus, the default rank. However, your stats and overall MMR remain the same.

Deadlock ranked times

Deadlock ranked games cannot be played at any time; you must choose one of two slots during the week.
Here are the current Deadlock ranked times:

Monday to Friday between the hours of 2pm – 8pm Saturday to Sunday between the hours of 9am – 8pm

It’s worth noting that the weekday slot gives you a potential 30 hours to complete your seven games, whereas the weekend one is just 22 hours.
