All New Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotics

The Final Shape release date is just days away, and we’ve been hands-on in Destiny 2 almost constantly trying to tick off triumphs and attain those elusive titles -cough, Godslayer, cough- that we haven’t managed  to secure just yet. We’ve got a full list of all of the new Destiny 2 exotics coming when The Final Shape launches.

All Destiny 2 The Final Shape new exotics

Here are all of The Final Shape exotics that we know of so far:

Hazardous Propulsion – Titan chest armor Wishful Ignorance – Titan gauntlets Mataiodoxia – Warlock chest armor Speaker’s Sight – Warlock helmet Balance of Power – Hunter leg armor Gifted Conviction – Hunter chest armor Khvostov 7G-0X – Kinetic auto rifle Still Hunt – Solar sniper rifle Microcosm – Kinetic trace rifle Red Death Reformed – Solar pulse rifle

Hazardous Propulsion

Exotic perk – Danger Close

This Titan chest armor’s exotic perk is Danger Close, meaning that precision hits from any weapon, or final blows, have a chance to load a Kinetic Exodus rocket. Titans can activate their class ability to fire the loaded Exodus rocket. Damaging any targets with those Exodus rockets will temporarily increase the damage dealt with any other rocket. The rocket damage bonus of around 35% at its maximum will last for around 10 seconds, and also applies to rocket sidearm weapons.

Wishful Ignorance

Exotic perk – Wish-Dragon’s Talons

These Titan gauntlets enable Titans to equip an additional Frenzied Blade charge. Frenzied Blade and Flechette Storm will both briefly have increased damage with each consecutive strike. Banner of War pulses will return melee energy based on the number of allies healed. The damage bonus is 20% for the second melee, 50% for the third, and 100% for the fourth.

Mataiodoxia

Exotic perk – Stylostixis

The most difficult to spell exotic in the Destiny 2 collections so far, Mataiodoxia is a Warlock chest armor that means targets damaged by Arcane Needle emit a suspending detonation when defeated. Landing multiple Arcane Needles on the same target will immediately trigger a larger, more powerful detonation. Pairing this exotic with the Strand subclass is a no brainer, as it also grants melee energy when defeating suspended enemies. Arcane Needles, as if this didn’t make them powerful enough, are also effective against Barrier Champions.

Speaker’s Sight

Exotic perk – The Lost Voice

This Warlock helmet has a hell of a lot of lore implications, with The Final Shape tidying up the story arcs of all characters, that also refers back to the Speaker, who used to be able to communicate with the Traveler via a special helmet. It remains to be seen whether Warlocks can hear the Traveler, but this exotic’s perk means that healing grenades will spawn a restorative turret, and that healing allies will occasionally spawn an Orb of Power. For a Destiny 2 exotic, that feels pretty minor, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if those extra communicative abilities are granted when wearing this. Warlocks, report back please.

Gifted Conviction

Exotic perk – The Gift of Certainty

This Hunter chest armor exotic will throw bouncing explosives at nearby targets which jolt and damage them when you active Ascension or Tempest Strike. Jolting nearby targets will also grant Hunters damage resistance.

Balance of Power

Exotic perk – Double Down

These Hunter legs will grant the Double Down exotic perk, which increases the duration and durability of Threaded Specter. Damaging that Specter will release additional Threadlings, which seek out and damage nearby enemies. While near your Threaded Specter, you will no longer appear on the radar – a vital Exotic for any Strand Hunter in PvP environments.

Khvostov 7G-0X

Intrinsic Trait – The Right Choice

This auto rifle might be a familiar name to any Guardians that have stuck around since Destiny 1. The Khvostov is the first weapon that lands in your hands at the start of your New Light journey, and has been reintroduced for the saga’s conclusion in a new, shiny, exotic form. Don’t worry, it has an ornament which restores its original appearance. Its intrinsic trait, The Right Choice, means that every seventh bullet deals additional damage which then ricochets to nearby enemies. ITs secondary perk means that collecting Orbs of Power will strengthen those ricochet shots, providing more damage and more bounces between targets.

Still Hunt

Intrinsic Trait – Cayde’s Retribution

This Solar sniper can fire Golden Gun shots. Yes, really. Picking up Orbs of Power or landing precision hits will charge Still Hunt’s super bar. Once full, hold down the alternate fire button to trigger Golden Gun shots. It takes around six headshots or 12 Orbs of Power to fill that bar, and can stack with the Celestial Nighthawk Exotic helmet for additional damage. Without Nighthawk, the precision damage ramps up with each shot dealing 45% more on the second and 90% more on the third. Your charge meter, importantly, won’t reset if you die before filling it either. Still Hunt’s secondary perk means that it gains passive bonuses to target acquisition, aim down sight speed, and flinch resistance, which all increase further when the weapon’s super mode is active.

Microcosm

Intrinsic Trait – Paracausal Beam

This trace rifle’s intrinsic trait fires a beam of Kinetic light which deals massive bonus damage to shields, ideal for taking down an annoying Titan in PvP, or damaging minibosses throughout the campaign. Its secondary perk, Paracausal Imbuement, grants super energy for final blows, and gains bonus damage once your super expires.

Red Death Reformed

Intrinsic Trait – Redemption

No, it’s not lost on me that Red Death’s trait is Redemption. Final blows with this returning favorite cure you and increase reload speed. Reloading after final blows will also cure your nearby allies. Cling to your fireteam members wielding this weapon, the Solar pulse rifle could be a vital tool in endgame content. When dealing damage with Red Death Reformed, it also gains increased handling, reduces flinch, and increases movement speed for a short time. When you’re at reduced health, this weapon deals around 4.5% increased damage, too. And yes, just like Khvostov, it will have an ornament to match its iconic Destiny 1 appearance.

New Exotic class items

Exotic class items haven’t existed in Destiny 2 before The Final Shape. This time around, Guardians who want to buildcraft until they physically can’t anymore will have access to these specialized items that differ per class, and will work specifically with the new Prismatic subclass. Each new Exotic class item has two random perks which are inspired by a selection of other Exotic armor items, which you can see in our tables below.

Essentialism – Hunter exotic cloak

Stoicism – Titan Exotic Mark

Solipsism – Warlock Exotic Bond

We’ve got all you need to know on which of the Destiny 2 classes you should choose to play, as well as our The Final Shape preview, where we said this is looking like some of the strongest content Bungie has ever created for Destiny 2.
